Contino wins, property tax crushed
Fountain Hills voters have elected Dennis Contino to a four-year term on the Town Council.
Contino defeated Michael Tyler in the race 3,068 to 2,010.
Voters overwhelmingly defeated the primary property tax question. By a 4-to-1 margin, voters turned down the measure that would've assessed property tax.
The results were 4,205 against and 1,058 for.
Davis unanimously selected as next FH Town Manager
Richard Davis is the third town manager in Fountain Hills history, after the Town Council unanimoulsly agreed to a contract with Davis.
Davis will make a base salary of $135,000 and is expected to start no later than July 7.
A total of nine candidates were interviewed and the committee narrowed the candidates to five, all of which visited Fountain Hills from March 27-29 and participate in the second phase of the interview process at the Fountain Hills Community Center.
Davis is from West Point City, Utah where he is the city manager.
